Referral process

Dr. Anika has specialist qualifications, hence requires a referral from your GP for Medicare funding. This is a BULK-BILLING service.

The only exception is a Capacity Assessment. Currently Medicare does not have an item number for capacity assessments hence the reason for the Gap payment. Solace Geriatrics will charge $1000 for capacity assessments, of which the patient can reclaim $552.40 from medicare. There will be a $150 charge for any subsequent associated consultations.

Please ensure the referral includes the following details:

- Patient's Full Name and Date of Birth
- Medicare No
- Current Home address
- GP full name and provider number
- Reason for referral
- Any recent blood test results or imaging results.
- Contact details of next of kin or medical treatment decision maker
